JRA Ballast Advisory Systems (BAS)

"Taking floating structure stability management to the next step"

The "Ballast Advisory System" (BAS) is an exciting,  unique and exclusive JRA software program that automatically interprets various "conditions" onboard an offshore floating structure or ship to determine if a "fault" event has occurred based on predetermined limits.  If the software detects a fault event, then the software automatically informs the user of various embedded solution options to either correct or mitigate the fault. The BAS works normally in conjunction with the Load Management System as an input provider but can also work with the on-board Vessel Management System.

Stability Advisory Systems provide critical information under routine and intense conditions. This solution provides the Barge Supervisor or Ballast Control Officer with "platform generic and platform dependant" best practice stability information. In brief, it automatically reads and interprets the current "condition" of the platform, determines if a "fault" has occurred based on pre-determined limits, and determines based on that fault or faults what advise the operator needs on options available to correct the fault/s. This is a practical solution that provides substantial stability risk reduction from a load related incident. As you know, when things go bad offshore and they can with life threatening impact, the very best thinking is needed by people in control of the situation. This solution supports that thinking in a robust and logical program using a look and feel the operator will be comfortable with.
